Re: How far are you going to BUY more Guns & Ammo ???

AD I have figured out a way to get another $3K out of my 401K while still at my current job. The scam of "Hardship Withdrawls" to get my own money back out of it and still pay penalties. I figured out an easy way to get this out and have received the first $1K of it today. Using it for some accessories on the Saiga-12 so I can mod it so far. Going to buy about $500 worth of ammo tomorrow and then hopefully have the other $2K by Feb. 7th to pay the other little bit of my MD-20 Drum I owe + go to the local gun show and hopefully get a G26, and a decent long range rifle of some sort. Not sure at all on what the rifle will be at this time.

Also was able to file my tax return today so that money will go towards preps and some ammo when I get it here shortly.

I voted that I sold the wife, all I got out of that though was a beat up Hi-Point 380..... Talk about a very bad ROI. :bear_tongue:

I just sold a small chunk of silver to pick up some Glocks........ the strangest thing is I did not feel bad doing it.

I think it speaks volumes as to how serious the times have now become.

I haven't sold anything. Each month, I pay the bills, then with the money left over I buy. One month PM; next month ammo; next month preps.

I'm pretty sure things will go to hell long before I ever have enough, but I can only do the best I can.

Re: How far are you going to BUY more Guns & Ammo ???

I've done some wheeling and dealing. I was working a second job part time, but it was wearing me out. I cut back on my 401K contributions and now applying that money to preps.

I started building my arsenal a few years back so I'm not playing catchup as badly now. Still wish I had started much sooner though. Having a worthy stockpile of ammo is my biggest concern mostly.

Re: How far are you going to BUY more Guns & Ammo ???

I've seen this coming for a long time and have been building up my stock over the past several years. I'm fine on guns, ammo, and high cap mags. If I had more time, I would probably buy more mags, but I think I have enough. I've bought replacement parts for most of my guns, but I could use more. A few months ago I bought a bunch of replacement springs and floorplates for mags.

There are still things I'd like to have but don't, but it's because they're too expensive for me anyway. I did buy a 30-06, a shotgun, and I bought a couple of cases of ammo for the Mosin Nagants this month, but I would have bought the rifle and shotgun regardless of the impending Obamanation.

Debt free

in fact picked up another 5000 rounds of 5.45x39
and 6 cans 9mm for another 6000 rounds

when your debt free you have $ to spend without selling things

I know there are many of you that say there is good debt

but let me tell you that is not true.

I sold some silver
Purchased another case of 5.45x39 yesterday

Stopped by a dealer today and couldn't believe the prices and conversation.

$799 polish tantal
$849 saiga 12
not an AK for under $600 and i'm talkin the cheap wasr's!

A guy walked in while i was there and ask
"hey when does the gun ban start i need to buy an AR-15"

Dealer "oh those are hard to get and you won't find those anywhere, But we
can build you one for 1,800 bucks!

I'm like WTF! are you kidding me!

Some of these dealers need to lay off the crack pipe!

Everything he had on the shelf was a take it or leave it attitude... BS!

So what is a good caliber to get a high powered rifle in guys? Any suggestions on the rifle also? Want to keep it at or around $700ish for the rifle.

For voting from the rooftops? You should be able to find something chambered in 300 Win Mag for about that price...or at least a .308

I've got more than I need gun wise, so I'm selling some AKs, etc but picking up more reloadable stuff, pistol ammo and survival needs. I'm keeping the guns/ammo I can carry and a couple spares to hide. We're entering some very interesting times. Heard the last wake up call.

SilverCity, I am thinking about getting a M1 Garand from the CMP up in Port Clinton, Ohio. Is this a decent choice for such a thing or no?

Yes--IF you can get plenty of CMP surplus ammo for it..also be sure to stock up on lots of en bloc clips. And at least a few ten-pocket cartridge belts...

Re: How far are you going to BUY more Guns & Ammo ???

The en bloc clips are reloadable right? How many times can you use a clip before they are no good if reloadable?

It is looking like I will try to get a service grade M1 Garand and pick up about a 1000 rounds of that Greek surplus ammo they have on their site that comes on the clips already.

Will try to get more surplus ammo for it in a couple months when I have more money to spend.

I need to join the required group/club in the next day or two, then have a local police buddy fill out the forum saying I know how to handle a gun without blowing my head off.

Yes--definitely reloadable. WWII U.S. GI Garand clips are still around...and work fine. It has been a while since I fooled around with the Garand, but I would look for U.S. GI 30-06 M2 ball from the CMP program if still available.

While I usually avoid credit card debt, I am running up my home equity line to get my stuff. My rate is 4% right now. I'll get it paid off in a few months - if the rates go up, I've got ways to pay it off. No way I'm parting with any PMs right now....
